UMCOR in the News
Relief-supply kits help provide care for the most vulnerable people during times of crisis. UMCOR collects 6 types of kits for global distribution and cleaning buckets for US distribution after storms.
Kits help sustain everyday life for people who lack ready access to essential supplies. They provide vital support for UMCOR’s global development work and make a tangible difference in people’s lives. Trinity collects and contributes materials for the assembly of these kits. Donating to UMCOR couldn't be simpler-make out your check to Trinity UMC and in the memo line, write "UMCOR" and the Advance number of the ministry where you would like your funds to go. Put your check in the offering plate on Sunday or drop it off at the church office. Trinity will ensure that your donation is received by UMCOR.
The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is a ministry of The United Methodist Church through the General Board of Global Ministries, and is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. UMCOR is dedicated to alleviating human suffering around the globe. Its goal is to assist the most vulnerable persons affected by crisis or chronic need without regard to race, religion, gender, or sexual orientation, for all people have God-given worth and dignity. UMCOR’s work includes programs and projects in disaster response, health, sustainable agriculture, food security, relief supplies, and more.
UMCOR’s work reaches people in more than 80 countries, including the United States. It provides humanitarian relief when war, conflict, or natural disaster disrupt life to such an extent that communities are unable to recover on their own.
While UMCOR cooperates with other aid organizations to extend its reach, the most important partners are those that are served. It is confident that successful solutions to emergency or chronic conditions begin with the affected population. UMCOR provides these survivors not only temporary relief but long-term education, training, and support.
UMCOR spends 100 percent of designated donations on the projects donors specify. When UMCOR donors give their time, money, and supplies, they join UMCOR as the hands and feet of Christ.
